five

Life is good. Work is starting to pick up more. Sort of. Still not working near as much as I would like to yet, but enjoying the light days. On Wednesday it was incredibly nice outside and I had the afternoon off, so I finally got the opportunity to go hike the glacier. Jake, a fellow guide, and I rode bikes for about the first mile in, and then hiked the rest of the 3 miles or so to the glacier. It was pretty awesome.

More guides have moved in within the last week. We have a full house now, along with an almost full staff. All of us hung out at gastineau house yesterday night, which was fun. Although I wasn't there long because I had been babysitting one of my manager's kids. Then some of us had a bonfire last night at the beach past auke bay. We went bowling a few nights ago as well. I lost the first two rounds until we all decided to play left handed. Ironically not only did I win, but I beat my score from the previous right handed games. It was a good night until I got all the way home and realized I still had my bowling shoes on and had left my chacos at the bowling ally. No worries. I got them back.

They don't need all the guides everyday yet, so the other day I got to work as a deckhand on the boat all day, which was nice and relaxing. Many days I have worked ground support as well, which is an easy job. I just sit with the radio in case the guides needs my assistance on a lowerdown, and wait for the group to finish the course to unclip everyone from the bottom of the repel. Quality reading and chill time when you're ground support. I'll take all the hours I can, though. All my tours thus far have gone really well. We did have a lower down off the course on Wednesday
, but other than that everything has run really smooth. I have the whole day off tomorrow, so I'm not sure what I will do. I'll wait to see what the weather decides to do first. Hopefully it will be nice so I can make good use out of my day off. We will see. I just hate being cooped up inside the house all day.

Sidenote: LOST and Grey's Anatomy season finale anyone?! Ah! Intense.

That's all. Peace and love. <3
